The first picture is the dessert the Erdman Dining Hall at Bryn Mawr College served on Tuesday the 9th of July. It was a oreo ice cream cake. It had three layers, first a cookie crumb crust, then oreo ice cream, and finally whipped cream., It was amazing, except for there was too much whipped cream and it’s texture was grainy. I rate it 6/10. The second picture speaks for itself. It’s cheesecake! At a college dining hall! I’ve clearly been here too long, because this was very exciting to me. It was vanilla cheesecake with graham cracker crust and caramel sauce on top. It was no where near the cheesecake you could get from Junior’s in New York City, but it was rich while not being too sweet. I rate it a 7/10.
The first picture is the breakfast served on Friday the 12th at the Erdman Dining Hall on the Bryn Mawr College campus. It is a slice of french toast with syrup, powdered sugar, and blueberries. The syrup wasn’t maple syrup like I expected, just pure sugary corn syrup which was too runny and way too sweet, the blueberries were frozen and really rock solid. The only thing good about it was the actual french toast itself. I rate this a 3/10. Second is a bagel with cream cheese and cantaloupe. The bagel was chewy and hard to bite, though it still tasted good. The cantaloupe was sour, and also really hard to bite into. I’d rate this meal low, with a 4/10. Next was a yogurt parfait, which of course had vanilla yogurt, granola, and blueberries. This was probably the healthiest thing the dining hall serves for breakfast, which may be hard to believe, but the only other options are sugary cereal, bagels, toast, and pancakes, so I think getting a yogurt parfait is one of the best options at the Erdman Dining Hall, I rate it 8/10. The dining hall’s average breakfast rating is 5/10.
The first picture was one of the dinners the Erdman Dining Hall at Bryn Mawr Dining Hall served on Monday the 8th of July. It was penne pasta with marinara sauce as well as some carrots and bell pepper (which was moldy). This was not the best. I’d rate it 3/10. Second, I took a picture on Friday the fifth of June. I ate dinner at the Erdman Dining Hall at Bryn Mawr College. They serve buffet style, so every night they have a huge salad bar with veggies, meats (and tofu and tempe), hummus, and more. They also always serve a kind of pasta, meat and side dish every night. On July fifth they had Pasta Primavera. This is bow-tie pasta with yellow squash, zucchini, bell pepper, tomatoes, garlic, and olive oil, it is vegetarian and it isn’t what you’d usually expect from a college dining hall in the way the pasta is perfectly cooked (not chewy or crunchy) while also demonstrates that Bryn Mawr College’s cooks take risks in their cooking and don’t just make spaghetti with marinara sauce and meatballs every night. I’d give this meal a 8/10 (college standards). Third was one of the main dishes the Erdman Dining Hall served on Sunday, July 7th. It was a Peruvian quinoa stew. It was a quinoa dish with summer quash, bell peppers, lentils, ginger, carrot sauce, and mushrooms. It’s spicy, vegan, and amazing! It’s accompanied by green bell pepper and a breadstick. I rate this a 9/10, and finally, was one of the dinners that the Erdman Dining Hall at Bryn Mawr College served on July 9th. It is cheese pizza, french fries, green and red grapes, carrots, and hummus. The pictures I took show that this dining hall clearly is busiest for dinner because the only prep it the meal required was defrosting, slicing, and washing. I wouldn’t expect much better food considering this is from a college, but it could’ve been better a lot better compared to the meals above. I rate this meal 4/10.
